How do you know if your tooth was filled correctly?

I just got a tooth filled with the white coloring filling this morning, I trust my dentist but the tooth he fixed was crooked and it was hard to work on it, he had to "sand" the filling so that I would be able to floss, I don't know, it was just kinda traumatic, I don't know if it was filled correctly and front my point of view I felt like it took a lot of "sanding" to get to the point where I could floss , can all that sanding fracture the white filling or sand it down so much it leaves my tooth exposed? am I being extremely paranoid?. Thanks

  1. coz it will feel normal again

  2. I am sure that your dentist did the job needed to be done.

If you are not actually experience problems with the tooth such as filling particles breaking away or pain then you should not worry too much.

But since you are concerned anyway then why not call on your dentist and speak to him or her  about your concerns. Any good dentists are happy to talk to you about after treatment concerns. Most dentists hope you call them if you are worried about the treatment you had because they have the knowledge that may rest your fears and explain the procedure he/she had taken more clearly and the expected results and risks. It is a normal part of their care.

  3. its cool you love your teeth so much. 'sanding' is fine and really your dentist is 'contouring' your filling to adapt best to your mouth. would have to sand off heaps of enamel for the sensitive part of your tooth to be exposed (dentine), like 3 mm deep in some areas, practically impossible, you'll be right! ps what a nice dentist to care enough to enable you to floss still.

  4. if you brush you will see your filling coming out slowly if it is not filled properly.make sure you see the dentist weekly. or monthly.

  5. unless your tooth starts to hurt...

from hot... cold... or eating something hard...

    i wouldnt worry bout it
