How do you know if your well pump is broken or out of water?

one time the water was dirty. after that the water was clear. i have no water coming out of my sink. by the pump there a number thing that show 0 on it what is it .

Is the pump running? If not, sounds like a breaker or the pressure switch.

Sometimes a bug or ant will get between the contacts on the switch. Take the top off and use a wooden spoon or handle to push the contacts open. Bump them open a couple times to see if it kicks in.

If it is running then it probably needs to be primed.

Look for clues.  First, has any "dirty" water shown up?  If so, that would indicate the well is running dry since the last water to be pumped up will be top water and things float on top of water in a well.  Is the pump functioning?  That is, is it using power (electric or physical)?  If it's using energy, it would indicate dryness.  And there are more.
