  1. there r too many doubting thomas's out there

science is always about reviewing and questioning facts

  2. we don't

  3. On the contrary. The smart view is that the wisdom of science and religion will converge some time in the future. Old scientists will be branded as narrow minded, and religionists will be proven right.

  4. If it did, it wouldn't be "science" any more.

The fundamental, defining feature of "science" is that it is supported by EVIDENCE (provided by observation and experiment).

Religion, OTOH, is supported by FAITH, which cannot be shaken by evidence, and does not need evidence to support it.

If science stopped being supported by EVIDENCE, but instead started using FAITH, then it would change fundamentally in character, and would no longer be science any more.

  5. Well, it wouldn't really be science anymore.  Religion requires belief because it can't offer any proof.  Science requires no belief or faith because it has evidence to offer.  And you don't have to believe anything a scientist says - you can go test it for yourself.  Science always works the same way.

  6. we don't, but it already kind of is!

    Scientology, duh!

  7. Science and religion never go well together, it's like water and oil. Many years people thought that religion are evil because of all the killing. It's not the religions that are evil, it's the people that interpreted the message wrong and it leads to bloodshed after bloodshed. Science can solves a lot of problems but it can't solve all the problems. I don't think religion can never disappear because if one religion disappear, another one is going to pop up and replace the old. Beside science can't be religion because how are you going to worship science? flashes and beakers? mathematic equations?
