How do you know that a rabbit is healthy?

My rabbit has lost weight since I brought him home from the pet store. His fur is oily. His appetite is very good. He eats like a pig but he's not gaining any weight. He also pees on us all the time. As soon as we pick him up, he pees on us. What could be causing this? (no silly guesses pls. tell me about your experience)

You should spay him that will make the peeing problem better and you should brush the rabbits fur to keep it healthy and shiny. and also take it outside for an hour or so for it to get some exercise and fresh air that will make the rabbit very happy and also healthier, also alot of fresh water is good for their fur and the right kind of food.

Get him fixed if not already. Get him checked over by a vet. Check to see if he has runny p**p. Check to see if his teeeth are aligned. How often is your rabbit deficating? Are its eyes clear? Is his coat shinny? Check its nails. If hes getting skiny its prob not getting enough nutrents. Or it could have an internal birth defect like its intestines or stoumach.

his fur should not be oily but it could be as small as that he might need a bath. just dont try picking him up that much. get him out of his cage then sit down in a rabbit proofed room and let him explore.

He is likely a nervous rabbit.  Try not to touch him too much as that is likely stressing him out.  Once he becomes used to your presence he will calm down and not pee as much.  Rabbits are naturally nervous animals and the majority of them do not liked to be touched too much.  Maybe get him a companion, like another rabbit (be careful of the s*x) or a guinea pig.  Because his hair is oily and he's not gaining weight I would take him to the vet.  He may have worms.  Pet stores do not have the healthiest environment and he may have caught something there.
