How do you know that it is really over?

We really seem to be in the same boat... And I wish I knew the answer myself.. If you are interested I will exchange my story with you.. But I know the longer I go wondering, the more doubt I have that it will work out in the end...

Judging by your question, I'm guessing that you're the one who has been left 'hanging on', in which case I'm sorry to say its probably already over.

You can always be straight up and simply ask.  Alternatively, you can decide it's over as far as your concerned and cease all contact.
