  1. You've got to check it yourself. Just be weary of it and cautious. The eggs that have been fertilised have little, almost microscopic, red dots in the yolk. Once you know what you're looking for it's pretty easy to spot.

It's nice of you to care for animals. I think you're a noble person.

  2. Buy organic brown eggs.

  3. Of course. But the egg industry is just as bad as any other man-made industry that involves animals. Which usually involves, mass death, pools of blood, torture and shortened life spans for the survivors.

  4. they aren't

because hens bred for eggs are not kept around male chickens

female hens are kept to make eggs

male chicks are often killed at a few weeks old for pet food..

    harsh but true

  5. I ll fertilize anything you want!Hhehehehehehehe!!! :-)

  6. That is true there is not a rooster within 40 miles of the hen house and commercial egg producers have 2000 or more hens, it would be one tired rooster if he had to service all those hens.

The eggs in production are from hens that normally produce eggs, whether they are on a farm or in a laying facility, they do it like cows give milk it is a natural occurence, true when the hatchery does the sexing of male and female chicks the males are sent to be raised for meat production, not always for fertilizer, and a laying hen has a life span of 18 months before she is "egged" out and is made into soup or other meat product.

I am a former chef and toured many commercial facilities here in Canada and abroad for quality concerns, and they do not get fertilized, at anytime during the process.

  7. If there is a splotch of blood in the egg.  But it's such a rare occurrence that if you do see blood, it is very rarely a fetus.  Don't worry about it.

  8. If you buy farm eggs  they should be. You can tell when you crack an egg and if you see a black or dark red teeny tiny spot, it's fertilized. All the fertilized eggs I've seen are like that. I use to raise chickens for their eggs.

  9. In most egg farms the rooster never goes anywhere near the hens. If you buy common eggs from the market, chances are it was never fertilized. There are eggs labeled "fertile eggs" which have been fertilized but growth has been stopped long before the embryo has a chance to develop. If you buy normal non free range eggs and they're not labeled "fertile" from the grocery store then it has never been fertilized. If you buy them from a person that raises chickens then it may have been fertilized and theres a chance the embryo is partially developed (I've seen it) so if you don't want any surprises you can hold them up to a candle to check if there are any veins.
