  1. James doesn't know what he is talking about at all. Your subs will not cut out here and there by underpowering them. That will have nothing to do with it at all.

First off, never look at the Peak wattage value for anything audio, peak wattage means absolutely nothing at all. You always want to look at the RMS value, nothing else. If that sub is 1200watts peak, automaticly look at that and see nothing more that 600 watts RMS, samething with 600 watts peak that would mean 300 watts RMS.

For the 1200 watts sub, look at a 1200 watt RMS amp to power both subs. Do not look at a muliti or 2 channel amp for your subs, get a mono block Class D amp that is CEA-2006 compliant.

For the  600 watt subs, you would only need a 600 watts RMS amp.

When looking for an amp for subs always look at Class D mono block amps.

A long read but well worth it.

  3. first of all its not always the peak power that you wanna go with. what are the subs rms? probably around 150 or 200. youre gonna want an amp that can power your subs at their rms. so say you have 2 subs w/ 200 watts rms, a 500 watt amp will work fine, but your subs will cut out a little, so id go with a 1200 watt class d mono block amp. or a 2 channel amp would work just fine too. so your subs will have that extra power when needed. it depends on how much money you got too. more watts means more money. remember, you get what you pay for. kenwood and alpine are good names and are average, if u got the money, get a class d amp from mtx or jl, their the best.

    good luck bro!
