  1. well, they'll start making a lot of noise and hang out around windows & doors -- trying to make a dash to get outdoors.

Our cat (we can't have her fixed b/c she has such a pronounced heart murmur the surgery would kill her) makes a weird noise that's almost like quacking ... and she'll rub all over everything -- people's legs, the table, the floor, etc. A lot of other cats will howl or almost scream -- it can be a bit annoying.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Trust ME you will know! You will not get any sleep and your cat will drive you CRAZY! trust me My cat drove me crazy while she was in heat.

  3. How do you know your cat is in heat?  You'll hear her and she'll drive you nuts.  She'll also crouch down with her rump in the air and her tail to the side.  It's the feline come-hither song and dance routine!

If you're not planning to breed her, it's usually safer to get her spayed.  Being in heat makes them lose weight (they only think about doing the 'wild thing' and not eating properly), and eventually it can lead to health issues later.  Besides, most cats will drive you nuts if they're in heat often.

  4. she will start making very long meows and deep gurgling noises some times she may attack but that is only with some cats you can get a cat neutered so she will never be in heat a gain till she dies that means she can not get pregnant

  5. Unless you are a professional breeder (which I assume you aren't based on your question), get your cat spayed ASAP. Millions of cats are euthanized every year because the shelters are overcrowded, including Persians. Even purebreds are not spared from abandonment.

If anyone you know wants a Persian cat, tell them to go to

http://purebredcatbreedrescue.org/persia...  first, or to go to their local shelter and look at the cats there. They just might fall in love with a common tabby.
