How do you know what the propery tax would be before purchasing a property?

Thinking of buying a 3 family house in Brooklyn for Approxmately $650000, would like to know my expences and know how much property tax i would be paying?

Property tax is public record.  Go to the Kings County department of taxation website.  You can probably just enter the address and get your answer.  No real estate agent?  If there's an agent, you should be asking him.  A listing sheet might have the taxes on it.

Call the local Tax Assessor / Collectors office ....

If you search MLS listings for that property, it gives taxes and all that info right there on the property's MLS page.

Otherwise, look at the sites the others recommended.

Try visiting the county website and put in the property address.  All of the information is public record.  You can also find out how much the last 2 or 3 people paid for the property, and who currenlty holds the morgage!
