How do you know when a HoneyDew Melon is ripe and ready to cut open and eat??

It should be light "green"

Smell sweet

And then feel the brown indentation on the bottom...it should give some when you press on it with your thumbs.

Get a nice wiff of it. The stronger the smell the more ripe it is. If your nose is left without a scent, then I would give it a little longer.

Also look at the skin texture. When you find a  ripe one get a feel of the texture, you should be able to tell for future honeydew :).
