  1. I have a Cockatoo and he grinds his beak when it is time to go to sleep. I think birds have all different  ways of showing they are tired.

  2. Foot Curling thing? That suggests his foot/feet are tired or sore and needs perch's of different material from wood.

Never use a dowel for a birds perch by the way, wood is too hard. Try a tight woven rope perch and a Sandy brand perch along with one wood perch.

Unless you mean the bird draws his leg up, then stands on one leg/foot on a perch, closes his eyes and is still while sleeping.

Stretching wings is same as us streaching our arm's. Birds also will fluff thier feather's, like shake them to put each feather in it's proper place for the birds comforate.

  3. My macaw grinds her beak, yawns and whispers "Hi" haha

  4. birds curl there feet up when they want to sleep, most birds sleep on one foot,   birds stretch just like us   birds also yawn and click their beak when they are tired, its a sign that it wants his "flock" to sleep

  5. When he stretches, he is just stretching. When he curls his foot he is resting. When he tucks his beak under his wing, he is tired.

  6. they  usually fluff up and close their eyes and stand still. i've had three birds and they would always sleep lol, so i know and i have seen it.
