HAHAHAH.. no, just kidding.. You can tell by reading body language... there's no way I can explain to you by typing. You need experience with these kind of guys.

All men tell you what you want to hear...just like all women will never tell you what you really want to know...its just the nature of the game. Just relax and make sure he treats you with respect and dignity. if he comes off as a caveman with a club and a hunk of buffalo meat while pointing to his fire lit cave dwelling, then it might be time to move on. But once gain...all men kick the same game...but some are more smooth and interseting.

Honestly, I would say give him a bit of rope to hang himself with and then test his words against his actions.  You can either do that with physical evidence that is verifiable, or by reliable accounts of others that you DO trust. That's really the only way to know for sure when a sense of trust has either not been established or has been broken.
