How do you know when a someone who is a Cancer has let down their guard?

Question

My best friend is a Cancer, and yes he tells me that I'm the only one he tells EVERYthing to (he has many best friends) but I don't quite believe it.

Second question, if he says he doesn't care if I talk about him behind his back (which I certainly DON'T) is that like his "guard" going up? Or is he just confident. It bugs me because he'll assure me that I'm the only one he tells everything to which in turn makes me feel like he trusts me a WHOLE lot, but then when he says he doesn't care if I talk about him, me, his best friend, it makes me think he actually doesn't trust me as much as I want him to. Is that him being a typical Cancer?

im a cancer myself  sometimes we are emotional or sensitive but we can also be aloof and not caring of certain things its just a defense mechinism that we learn so we dont get hurt as much..but sometimes we really dont care

my best friend is a cancer, they sort of act the same, them kats so emotional and insecure it aint funny, i think thats how they are, which isnt cool cuz im a leo, so im the opposite of my friend, find something that lets your friend shine so they wont trip so much homie
