How do you know when it's time to get a new tennis racket?

Also, as the frame gets older, will new strings lose tension quicker?

well ya dont need to get a new one cuz keeping the same forever makes it better and much more easier and automatic for your hands to use what i mean is that your hands gets conftorble in the same racket

when the wires fray or stretch on your old one

When the strings break or something so obvious that you KNOW you need one. I think that the tension of the strings will only lessen by use.  If the frame is strong in the first place I guess it shouldn't make any difference. This is my top of the head answer, and memories of my own tennis racquets many years ago.  Maybe things are quite different now.

wow i came here cause i saw that a lot of people answered your question and most of them were really stupid and useless

get a new racket when:

1.you have your eye out for a better model that you want

2.when the racket is so damaged and unusable, dented, excessively chipped

i would think its a good idea to upgrade your racket to a higher level once youve had your previous racket for a few years already, just try finding another one which feels the same

as long as the racket feels good and doesnt hurt your wrist or forearm, id say keep it.  replace the strings when they start to fray a bit.  

but i have had my racket for four years, I it just cracked and i got the same exact model again cause it felt right.  

but all you need to do if its not broken is maybe get new strings and an overgrip.
