my daughter (she's 10 years old) says she feels sick, like she's gonna throw up. but this has happened a couple times before, and she it just goes away after a while. but there have been times where this has happened, and she does end up throwing up. she always feels the same sick whether it's going to go away eventually or she is going to throw up eventually. are there any ways to tell for sure? i took her temperature and was 97.6. but once she threw up at 101.4 and once she threw up at 97.8 so i don't know what to tell her. when she feels sick, i let her lay down in my bed and that's where she is right now. so, are there any other ways to tell if she's really going to be sick?

  1. only your daughter knows if she is going to be sick or not.

  2. the same exact thing happens to me.  I feel like I am going to throw up but it just subsides. for some reason, most of the time, I have the ability to hold it til I get to a proper place...or sometimes it just comes on its own. she may be the same way after a while.

you can have the feeling but when it is more in the throat then that is more of a signal. but even then it could be a false alarm. just have her grab her bucket or go to the restroom when it is close. or if she just has the feeling lay down and rest. the old remedy ginger ale (or even sprite/7up) and crackers works as well.

  3. She probably is sick. If she is throwing up so much have her keep drinking water or gatorade so she doesnt get dehydrated. Call her dr also. You could also try giving her alkaseltzer or pepto to help settle her tummy. I get that way sometimes where I feel sick to my tummy and feel like throwing up but I never do. Other times I feel that way I do end up throwing up. So I guess there's no real way to know if you actually will throw up or not. Just have her run to the toilet if she feels like throwing up or get her a bucket to spew in.

  4. I tell my kids to look to their body for clues.

Heart rate starts to go up.

    Burping.

    Lots of saliva.

    Metallic taste in mouth.

    Change in breathing.

Having a sense of dread or like something bad is going to happen.

    Feeling shaky or woozy.

Good luck, hope there is not too much laundry!

  5. give her an old bucket or ice cream container to throw up in. You never have much warning. This way she is not having to run to the toilet. I know when I feel like throwing up , getting out of bed is going to make it worse

  6. I guess if she is going to get sick she should know.  Sometimes there really is no way of telling.  Is she pale, is she dry-heaving at all.  I know right before I get sick I get this horrible feeling in my throat, ask her if her throat feels funny.  When in doubt stick a bucket by her head just incase, you don't want her to make a huge mess in your bed.

  7. When your mouth starts watering real bad you know your gonna be sick xxxxxxx
