Or that you're full? I find that I eat until I'm uncomfortable. Is that normal? Do you just eat until you physically can't take any more?

This isn't a weight issue. I'm probably a bit underweight.

  1. If I eat too fast or too much, I feel very uncomfortable for a hour or more.  Among the lessons for people who are overweight (you're not) is to eat more slowly so the body has time to realize how much has been stuffed into it and signal fullness - there is a natural delay.  In our case, eating at a slower pace should permit enjoying the food more.  If you don't enjoy eating and just throw it down, then it may be time to change eating habits.  I now find that most restaurant meals are bigger than I can comfortably eat, so I divide everything into halves and eat one half in the restaurant and take the other half home.  Of course, if I find I really truly not full, I can always eat the rest of the portion of one thing.

  2. I usually stop when I don't feel hungry anymore. I try my hardest not to stuff myself, cause that always makes me feel crappy.

  3. i dont know DOUGAL, guess when ya full

  4. Stop eating after you feel you have had enough and wait 20 minutes.  If you are truly still hungry, you'll feel hungry.  Most likely you will not feel hungry.  That's a good measure and it works.  However, don't stuff yourself b4 you quit.

  5. Well if you put small amounts on your plate you will eat less! the human mind will tell itself to eat anything that is in front of it! If you don't see it, you won't eat it! Also eat slowly and while you are eating drink plenty of water! It will help cut down on the calorie intake!

    Good Luck!!!

  6. You should eat till you are not hungry. You may want to eat smaller meals more often. You may be needing more calories, but not eating enough smaller meals

  7. You definitely don't want to eat until you're uncomfortable.  It's sort of like drinking wine until you're drunk.  When you overeat, you put your body into a state called hyperinsulinemia.  Too much insulin in your blood stream.  (most people are in this state 24/7 and that's why there's so many fat people in the US)

The best way to figure out how much to eat is by determining how much protein your body needs per day.  There is a scientific formula behind how much food your body needs.  Man or Woman, you can determine your daily protein (meat, eggs, soy, fish, milk) requirement and then calculate your daily carbohydrate and fat amounts.  It's as simple as taking a couple of measurements, like height and waist size and hips size for women.  Men should measure their wrists too.

There's a diet that explains how it works at  http://www.stripthatfatdiet.com.  For example, I'm 6'2"" and weigh 245lbs.  My daily protein requirement is 98grams protein.  I then split that amount across five meals a day.  Three major meals and two snacks.  This is the same way many professional athletes eat because they know the science behind eating.  You have to almost treat food like a drug and know how much you should take.

  8. I have the same problem. I eat until I can almost not move. When you look at the food you have, and you aren't starving or hungry, you ought not eat. But if you are underweight, you have NOTHING to worry about.

  9. i eat until i am full and most of the time i end up being uncomfortable

  10. When you feel uncomfortable, that means your overly full. When you feel satisfied, that is when you need to 'stop' eating. The more you eat and get overly full, then you are stretching your stomach bigger and soon you will be eating 'more'. So, just stop eating when you know you're satisfied.

  11. You sound like you are one of those lucky people that can eat anything and don't gain any weight.
