there's a clot on one side of my mouth, but on the other side, it feels empty. It also hurts when i do deep swallows that have a little suction. Is that normal? i think i might have a dry socket because it feels as if there is no clot on that side. Also, it's on the top side of the mouth. I heard it's more often to occur at the bottom, so i'm not sure.

  1. If you have dry socket, it means that your bone is exposed! If this is true, you will be in severe pain and there will also be a bad smell coming from your mouth.

Remember, to prevent dry socket...don't smoke or suck through straws...any similar motions that may remove the clot.

I'm honestly not sure if you could feel if there were no clot there!

  2. DRY SOCKET PAIN IS UNBEARABLE.

    WHY?

THERE IS OPEN EXPOSED BARE RAW BONE AS PART OF YOUR JAW IN THE MOUTH.

THEY USUALLY OCCUR ON THE BOTTOM THAN EVER ON TOP.

THERE WOULD ALSO BE A FOUL ODOR ASSOCIATED WITH ONE.

IF YOU'RE NOT IN MISERY THEN YOU DON'T HAVE A DRY SOCKET.

  3. Pain is normal, if you have a dry socket the pain will be unbearable and medication will not help the only way to cure a dry socket is to cut it back open. if you can tolerate the pain you are good
