How do you know when you like someone?

What does it mean to like another person anyways? I really don't get it. Also, is it possible for a person to never have experienced having a crush/ etc?

it means being attracted to someone

i know i like a guy when i go out of my way to impress him, see him, and when he doesnt come around im so disappointed. also the i forget about the most important things and my attention is constantly with him
