  1. The manufacturer's instructions should tell you when. Most likely there is at least a weight limit.

If you want to know when she will be aware of her surroundings then the age is between 2 to 4 months old. By 4 months babies usually realize where they fell asleep when the wake up again.

  2. Usually there are weight restrictions. I kept my babies in the room with me until they were 3 months old and then moved them to a crib in their room. By this time they more moving around some and needed the room. I believe the crib at this age is a safest sleeping system.

  3. if they can sit up by them selves then it is time to move them into the cot. You can ofcause put them straight into a cot from birth but once they can sit it is dangerous to leave them in the bassinette as they can sit up and fall out.

    Hope that helps

  4. My bassinet says if they can roll over, push up, are 3 months old, or 15 lbs., whichever of these comes first, they should not be in the bassinet.

  5. Many bassinets have weight limits. Check that first. Second, once your baby starts sitting up...def time to get out of the bassinet. Third, if your baby is long and is bumping the edges, or is rolling around, they may need more room.

  6. A bassinet is really only for newborns. Once a baby starts moving around it is time to start thinking about moving her. Once a baby can roll over by herself...she should definatly be moved out of the bassinet. Bassinets can flip over when a baby is active enough to roll over. If you baby has started to pull up, well at 11 weeks...it will be pull on anything), she needs to be moved. Remember ANYTHING is possible with a baby. By a cot, do you mean a baby bed or crib?

  7. I made the switch when my husband said " do you not think she's getting too big for this?" She was about 10 weeks old and her feet were getting close to the bottom of it. I think once they have lost the startle reflex it's a good idea to switch.

  8. there should be a max pounds on the instructions, if not then when she gets too big to fit comfotably...best if you do it sooner so its easier to get her used to it :)

  9. I was always told once they are attempting to roll over is a great time to do the transition.

  10. there should be a max amount, but also when they can move more and especially if they start moving from side to side its a good idea to get them out of the bassinet
