  1. Press Ctrl Alt Delete Simultaneously and the Windows Task Manager Box will open. In the lower left you will see the percentage of memory in use and how many processes are open. There will also be 2 tabs at the top which will tell you which applications are running and the names of any background processes.

  2. ok well click ctrl shift and esc at the same time. you should see a screen open that has 4 graphs. look at the two left graphs...under them their should be numbers....look next to total (under physical memory not kernal) it should have numbers either 256, 512, 1024, 1536, or 2045, divide it by 1024 and thats how many GB of memory you have. now to see if you need more. look at the bottom left graph while doing normal tasks. and if the number it shows is reall close to the actuall amount of physical memory you have then you might need to upgrade.(ex. i have 2048MB of memory and right now im using 878MB that is pretty good) if your not very computer literate i'd recomend bringing it in to best buy and getting geek squad to upgrade it for you. good luck.

  4. Well there is only one type of memory - RAM. Most people confuse it with hard drive space as well so I'm not sure which you would be refering to. To check how much RAM is being used, you can press ctrl+alt+delete and go to the performance tab and that will tell you how much is being used. To check hard drive space, go to My Computer and click once on the C drive and look to the left. That will tell you how much you have total and how much is available.
