How do you know you're making a difference in the world?

Is it based on the actions of your accomplishments that you know this as fact?

I can only hope that my actions can make a difference in someone's day... I volunteers and make donations to alot of different causes.  Maybe a small difference, but.... put them all together and I think I make others happy.

I know by what I have been taught.

It is not based on actions alone, but faith. Actions are a part of what I do to make a difference but it is my faith in God and what He has taught me that confirms that: "I know what I do makes a difference in the world".

Now matter how small the difference is in relation to the whole picture I am assured, I make a difference.

No man is an island.  Perhaps you are trying to determine the magnitude of the difference you make?  

Accomplishments are actions.  It is based on the popularity or applicability of your accomplishments.

If you do one thing that makes a difference in someones life then you've made a difference in the world.  It could be something like giving a homeless person a couple of dollars...it may not seem life-changing to you...but it could mean something completely different to that person.

I think making a difference in someone's life results in positive energy.  Positive energy can not be seen, but felt, and can change a person.   Making a difference can be the smallest, simplest task, but also can make the greatest impact in someone's life.  We just need more people to make an effort, because the effort is enough to change someone's life.
