How do you know your cat has worms?

I adopted my baby when she was six months old and she is an indoor kitty. Her foster mom got her fixed and tested for diseases. Is it routine for the vet to test for worms as well? I was just curious. She doesn't seem to have any "symptoms" of having worms from what I can tell. Thanks

  1. Sometimes you will see the worms in the stool. If your cat is eating more and not gaining weight that's an indication also. If your cat has not been dewormed, it would be best to go to the vet and get the medication especially if it's outside.

  2. If you find worms in their faeces; if they seem to have an itchy bum; if they suddenly become really greedy.

If your cat goes outside and/or is a hunter, you want to deworm it regularly, just in case.

  3. If you ever feel as if your pet has any type of worms, take your pet along with a stool sample to the vet. When I first adopted my kitten we found he had roundworms and coccidia. We wouldn't have known unless we got him tested. The vet can prescribe the best medication for your pet's case. A visit to an animal hospital may just be the best answer for your case.

  4. if your cat is eating alot and not gaining wait its an indication that he/she has worms, she/he also should have an itchy bottom.

  5. You can tell if your cats eyes are blue and also if he as a flue type soft job in his litter. A microscope look of hit will turn out the worms. In worse scenarios you will see them in it without a microscope. Deworming is simple and not very expensive. Vet pills will do the trick and not many of them.

  6. Some symptoms of a cat infected with worms are:

    -diarrhea

    -weight loss

    -vomiting

    -extended abdomen

    -dehydration

If you think your cat may have worms just take it to the vet and they could diagnose what's wrong with it.

  7. You take it to the vet and they'll do a fecal sample to test for worms. If yours is a kitten then it will have worms, all cats are born with them, some more than others, but they'll give you something to clear it up. Also, if you look closely at the f***s, you may be able to see the worms, but take it to the vet. Best of luck :)
