How do you know your ready for tennis tournaments?

Question

I have played around three school tournaments but i'm not sure if i am ready for a national or state one. I'm also not sure how to get a ranking. So please help :-P

Well you don't, you just preplan and prepare as well as you can and hope for the best. The experience of competing and perhaps playing and winning is what drives us and if you do win a round or two or three or the entire tournament you will enjoy it and learn a lot. Hope for the best but don't be devastated if you loose. But enter each match as I am going to win and try to learn something new from each player you face. Once you become a USTA member in your region and enter tournaments using your member ID # they will give you a ranking according to your results.

basicly what everyone else has said but, if your not sure the best thing to do is practice. i just started playing this year for my school but i me and a friend stayed after practices, practiced on   weekends and still do it in the summer, im happily number 1 in my school now and its all due to practice. so if your not sure practice till you are, its not a bad idea to enter when your not ready too....its also you guessed it good practice!

um well id just jump in join a novis tournement at a local club.

even if u lose you still learn and it is helpful

you get rankings orkording to your result in many different tounrmaments

well ...make sure you're ready for the national level of tournaments  .....if you rly wanna up your game just play junior tennis tournaments

Sign up for USTA and you can sign up for tournaments.  If you are not sure you are ready I would start at Novice and then work my way up.

You don't. Learning is a process. Only with experience you know  how you did. The quicker we learn from our experience the better player we become. If we still don't get it from our experience then our experience is just a honeymoon. We need to remember a lot of unforgettable moment in order to learn not just one single moment until we die.
