Question:

How do you land ski jumps (tricks)?

I have been skiing a few years and want to start learning jump tricks. I have been going off small mounds but I have a problem landing. When I get air, my weight seems too far back so when I land I have a tendency to move my ski a lot to compensate for the weight being too far back. Any suggestions on how to land the simple jumps and to not have my weight so far back?

Thanks

  1. Hey,

First when you come off the jump look at the top of the jump. Then pop off it. Then look down at the snow and spot your landing and stomp it.

  2. when you come up to the jump bend your knees a bit more and try to lean into the jump. when in the air, tip your skis so that they are parallel to the ground.

  3. I would just try to relax and keep your weight balanced. If you align your skis with the landing and lean back a tiny bit as to not catch your tips you should land it.
