Is it an easy job for an amateur?

The floor it is going on is half original floorboards and half solid concrete (all flat and level).

Cheers

  1. I don't know the answer but I do know that B&Q have free leaflets and videos for sale on a number of DIY jobs. Many of the larger branches of B&Q also offer lessons in various DIY skills.

As far as I know, Homebase, Wickes and other DIY chains don't offer anything similar.

  2. This site has all the best installation guides. Type engineered wood floor in the search and up pops a load of videos, some are very well documented. You'll find it difficult to get a tutorial on laying onto concrete though, most of the tutorials are about laying engineered ontop of wood. But good luck

  3. depends on the board construction but my favorite brand floor is Kahrs, full fitting instructions can be found on their website.

P.S good quality DPM over the concrete floor
