i am a carpenter and have spirit levels etc,i know that you jack it up and level it and put packers under the feet, but because the full size table is slate sections im worried in case they raise up and create a line in the cloth that the ball will run on-any experts out there?,feedback much apprieciated.

  1. When putting shims under the feet, alway lift from the wide sides of the table, never from the head or foot string (shorter) sides.

If it's a quality table, the slate abutments should be perfect. They can be corrected  by adjusting wedge shims on the underside of the table itself, if need be.

As a carpenter, you know the game of leveling. Water doesn't lie. But everything else does.

Personally, I need to re-level my table again, but my guests don't know about it yet, and I use this slight defect to my advantage!

  2. You use hot wax and a razor blade for that. I dint know what kind of wax it is but when i watch them put a table together I see them dripping the wax in the creases.

  3. i dont even kno what that is
