How do you like my NEW IMPROVED Socks haiku?

Sink into armchair

And smell the ghost of cat pee—

Socks been dead nine years

I realized that the following breaks the haiku rules because it had (shock!) 6 and not 5 syllables. So I am reposting it and seeing if the new one gets a better response. How are you loving it so far?

Sink into armchair

Socks died nine years ago
