This dress with black detail

Bridesmaids dresses would be strapless asymmetrical black dresses with a long lime green sash.

I was thinking Calla lilies for the flowers but I'm not sure, any suggestions on that??

Were thinking a spring wedding?

I'm open to any comments or suggestions.

Thank you so much!!

  1. I think it sounds lovely for an evening/night formal spring wedding.  But a bit much for a daytime affiar.

  2. Your doing fine! All that you described is perfect! I love the idea of the lime green sash on the girls! And the calla lilies are beautiful! It's your day, go for it! Your dress is very classy. :)

  3. If you're just asking for opinions, my own impressions:

First off, I LOVE that dress! When I was helping a friend last year planning her wedding, we looked at that dress a LONG Time. I've seen it in the catalog with complimenting bridal party gowns. Oh so elegant.

I see a few issues to address. One: a whole long black dress, even with a  (lime green) long sash, is quite well, black. LOL. Especially if you're aiming for a Spring wedding. Spring is bright colours or at least pastel ones. I don't see black in the Spring palette (design background). Also, go to that wedding dress page, and click on the 'glass green' - that's not 'really' lime green, but close enough. What do you think of that as an accent instead of black for your dress and then see the link below for an idea of bridesmaids dresses? That particular dress doesn't even offer with black accent according to the site. Black is an OK colour to throw into a mix if it's just small accents. But definitely worth reconsidering for a Spring wedding. As you know, making black your main /primary colour in your scheme, would be more speaking 'non-traditional/funky' wedding, not elegant (like that dress) and spring and calla lilies.

So maybe try a few (lime) green bridesmaid dresses on that site, with black or dark bows to see what that looks like instead. A lot less obtrusive. Look at this idea for instance, green dress, black sashes: http://www.alfredangeloca.com/Collection...

The other issue is the spring flowers. Calla lilies are gorgeous obviously. What colours did you have in mind? Black and lime green don't really exist in nature lol. And I would imagine you want to have some colour harmony in your bouquet/arrangements/centerpieces with your dress(es?)

    Just food for thought!

Congrats on your wedding and good luck!

  4. I think the black & white combo will look lovely - very classy.  I especially like the lime green to reflect spring/ freshness.

The lilies would be a nice touch as they too bring to mind simple elegance.  I would say only a few in each bouquet.

    Congrats!!!

  5. I love the dress and I love the black brides maids dresses, but i'm not sure about the lime green sash when your dress has no lime green in it.  I would presonally prefer your dress with green details, black BM dresses and lime green sash.  Because likely the groomsmen have black tuxes so the black dresses would fit in and the green would tie in with your dress.  Thats just my opinion though.  I'm sure the way you are thinkign would look nice too, but I just cant picture it right now.
