Question:

How do you like these name?

I want something traditional for all of my children's names - for girls I have chosen Matilda, Charlotte and Eliza.

For a boy, although I really love the names Mason and Logan, I feel that they are too trendy. I am considering Edward (nickname Eddie) but have really fallen in love with William (nickname Billy or Liam). Do you think the nickname "Billy" is too feminine?

Which names do you prefer (reasons are welcome) out of the ones mentioned, cheers.

  1. Billy is definitely not feminine!

    I like the name William .... ^__^

  2. Your girls names are very nice.  I like Charlotte the most.

Mason and Logan are pretty trendy sounding, as is Liam, unfortunately.  For Edward, you could also use the nicknames Ted/Teddy or Ned.  William can also be Will (Bill/Billy sounds kind of dated, but who knows, maybe that preference for a nickname will come back).  Liam as a name on its own was #89 in popularity last year, and that doesn't include all the little boys with the given name of William who were nicknamed Liam.

Some other classics for boys to consider (that you don't hear every day anymore):

    Steven/Stephen

    Philip

    Peter

    Douglas

    Gregory

  3. I love all of your girl names! You can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree that Mason and Logan are trendy (they aren't really my style, but I do prefer Logan more than Mason.) Edward/Eddie is not my style, but how about Edmund? It seems a little bit fresher than Edward. I'd still prefer Edward as a middle name.

William is nice and classic. Billy is cute for a little boy, but I don't think the nickname will age well. For that matter, I'd prefer Liam or Will- because they are handsome nicknames for any age bracket. I also like Willem, too.

    Other names you might like:

    Bridget/Bridgette

    Clara

    Emmeline

    Gemma

    Ivy

    Lillian

    Penelope

    Ruby

    Vivian

    Andrew 'Drew'

    Charles 'Charlie'

    Douglas

    Elliot

    Henry

    Julian 'Jude'

    Lucas 'Luke'

    Nicholas

    Phillip 'Billy'

    Sebastian

    Thomas

    Vincent

  4. I love William, but only if the nickname is Will. I don't like Bill or Billy at all.

  5. For a girl, Charlotte. For a boy I like Logan (although it is kind of trendy) and Liam.

  6. I like the name Eliza

  7. Billy is not to feminine.

As for the name William .. We have several through out our family. we also have a couple of Eddie's

  8. Ok for girls, out of your choices i like Eliza and Charlotte the best. Mason and Logan are very trendy boys names these days. I hate the name Edward or Eddie....personal reasons. But, i do feel that William is a good name for a boy because its a name that he can grow into. You can call him Billy or Willie, then move to Bill or Will, then William if he wants. And no, i dont think that Billy is too girly at all.

  9. i like william but i would have the nick name will not billy or bill or liam or wat ever

  10. I like Charlotte the best out of the girls, and Love Mason and Logan. Edward is a nice name as well. William is cute too. No I don't think Billy is to feminine. It's my father's name. His name isn't William, it's straight out Billy.

My advice to you is don't worry with what is "popular/trendy" name your child what you love, who you feel that they are. In 5/10 years will you look back and say I'm glad I went with what I did, or oh man I wish I had named my kid ....................

  11. I like the name charlotte...matilda seems a little matronly though. I really like Mason and Logan much better that edward and william. Billy is not really feminine but it is overdone.

  12. Eliza's a great name for a girl

I just love the name William but you should definitely

    call him Liam for short.
