Vinyl or CD. I love buying them and taking them home to listen to -preferably alone. I have to just listen (not read or clean or anything else). I have loved doing this since I was about 10yrs old.

Loud with lots and lots of bass.

Digital removes too many of the important frequencies for playing it loud.

Vinyl is the way to go,it sexes up the sound

i like tape decks because the hissing in the background sounds like rain. if i want to hear the recording clearly and be completely in the song, i will listen to the original cd with headphones. digital copies, mp3s and even .wav files chop off some of the high  frequencies and narrows the dynamics. btw the sidebands on magnetic analog tape results in a mild and harmonic distortion that is called warmth and is quite pleasant.

Best of all is live in a local pub (local bands?) so that you can enjoy a few pints with the experience. Then the next best option would be a professional band in a small venue, followed by a superstar act in a large auditorium or stadium. Then it has to be digital or vinyl on a good stereo hi fi system. Lastly, I can just about bear listening to music on a small radio, but it's nowhere near as enjoyable as the aforementioned options.

I love my iPod .. I have a range of different tunes on there & am nearly always in the mood to listen.

I also enjoy going to live concerts as well .. It's great to actually SEE them perform.
