How do you link your cell and house phone so that you can answer the house phone calls on your cell?

for example, im out at the movies and im going to get an important call on my house phone but i wont be home. how can i link it so that i can answer that phone call on my cell...aka all house calls will go through on my cell? i just need it for tonight PLEASE HELP!!

call your landline provider and ask them if there is a way to have call forwarding set up. That way...all the calls go to the number you program....most phone lines do have a forwarding feature. You might just have to key in a special code, and then enter your cell phone number.

Also, if you have voice mail, you can change your voicemail on the landline to advise that you are out and to call on your cell.

you can call the person who is going to be calling you and give them the cell number.

You will need to use a star code in order to forward your house phone calls to your cell.  You should check with your phone company, but in most places in the US, *72 turns it on, and then *73 turns it off.  See the link below for details.
