How do you litter train a cat or a ferret?

Just curious. Might get one or the other.

there normally allready trained well cats anyway if there brought up right the mother of the kitten teaches her young to p**p in a cat tray mines was already trained but if its not here is sum good advice

step 1- when you see your cat/kitten about to p**p pick it up gently and carry to the litter box

step 2- give lots of attention once done the tolet and a treat

step 3- repete very time until it learns doing the toilet in the box is a good thing

if it dose it anywear ells lightly tap the cat/kitten on the nose and say no

I've heard that you place the "waste" in a litter box and they then know that it is where they go.

Hi, it's a process, takes weeks, and depends to some extent on your cat. Some take to it quickly and stick with it, others have trouble and don't want to learn, and others 'get' it, but then revert or become sporadic about it, so it's really up to you to decide if you want to try. Obviously a younger and/or smarter cat will learn faster, but other than those, try it and see how it goes.
