  1. First of all get the cat litter OUT!!  and use newspaper or yesterdays news' a litter brand.. cat litter is VERY dangerous and should never EVER EVER be put into a rabbits litter. -_-

Put some hay and veggies near or on the litter area to attract the rabbit.

like i said get the cat litter OUT...

  2. well my cousin has a rabbit and he is potty trained. and what you should do is have at least three litter boxes, and you shouldn't have the cat litter boxes for them! you could buy litter boxes specificly for rabbits! one litter box should be in the cage one maybe in your bathroom and if you get a bigger cage for them you could have two in thear cage. and you could put some hay and veggies near the litter box. anyways you should always let the rabbits out of their cage so they can roam around. and after a while they'll start knowing that that's their toilet. I hope this is good advise. good luck! :)                                                                                                                                                                                                       Oh and don't let the rabbits roam around the house unsupervised cuz if you do they will chew, eat, or destroy everthing in sight. especially wires! Only let them roam around when you watch! Good luck again!

  3. Well first off, you should have rabbit litter.  Get some kind of good brand such as Yesturday's News.  Dont get the pearl kind.  Then just put enough litter in the pan so it covers the bottom.  (You shouldnt put a lot in there because you should clean it out everyday, it it is a waste if more than half of it isnt used.)  Then take a paper towel or a napkin and just put some of its urine onto it.  Place it in the litter box so it will recognize the sent.  In a day or two you should see dark spots or rising of the litter.  That means that it has absorbed the pee.  For the p**p, rabbits usually will go in their litter box.  Sometimes they dont because it's not in their system that they HAVE to just like the urine.  Good Luck!

  4. agreed on the no using cat litter. my rabbit did it all by himself from day 1. keep the cage open so the rabbit can get in and out.important only let him in one small room(do not let him roam the whole house, once he gets the going back to his cage thing down then you can let him have access to the rest of your house.allowing him to roam the whole house while he is learning is a big and (messy) mistake.good luck

  5. Put MORE litter boxes around house.  The litter should be chips, ripped or ripped black and white paper.  Not reg. cat litter, some are bad for rabbits, they now make rabbit litter.

I hope they have A LARGE hutch or cage for indoors.

Rabbits will usually go in the CLEAN litter box, like a cat, BUT since they go so much, dont expect them to go in the box all the time, it just doesnt happen.

Hopefully you've given this person  A LOT of info on rabbits, and books for feeding and nutrition and vet care as well, so the rabbit doesnt end up a some shelter or worse.

  6. the litter box is a great first step

the box is important so she has a place to go, but what goes into the box is equally important

the younger she is the more easy this will be to do

so everytime she doesn't go in the litter box pick up the droppings and put them into her litter box

make sure the rabbit has something absorbent (that will soak up the pee) in there so it's not all wet and mushy for her.

***do NOT use cat litter, as a rabbit might eat it, and it expands in their belly. use wood shavings or another product made for rabbbits **

this might take a bit of time to train the rabbit, but it should work

    hope this helps

  7. Put grass or oat hay on top. They will jump in and usually do their business, but if she is not neutered, you can't perfectly train her.
