How do you locate information to find out if your town is on a flood plane?

Ok, curious, how do I search information to find out if my town is a flood zone?? I'v been looking up key words on the internet and cannot locate anything that would tell me. I mean I am up for a flood warning right now, but still would like to know if I am on a flood plane. Seeing as last summer the high way was wiped out by heavy rain down pours in just a couple of hours. I'm just curious if anyone would know how to find out that info?????

check out your city website or call the city hall.

I would say type in flood zone and the area where you live on google then search for and answer

To find out if your area is in a flood zone you may contact your local city government or you may contact the local National Weather Service office, they should have this information.
