Well, I already know how to delete the Internet History (IE7: Delete Browsing History; Firefox: Tools, Clear Private Data) and Recent Documents, but my dad says that he can still access all the sites I went to (no inappropriate sites, people -__-;; I'm just not allowed to chat online).

For example, I signed up for an AOL screen name, and he even found out what email address I signed up with.

Also, you know in those criminal justice shows like Law&Order: SVU and Law&Order: CI? The detectives just need the suspect's computer hard drive, and bam! They know where he's been on the Net.

So...How do you look at a computer's complete history/log?

  1. There are types of discrete key stoke and pc monitoring programs that run in the back round that are not obvious (even if you are looking). You can open the task manager (Cntrl+Alt+Del) and look under processes to see which programs are running but the problem is knowing which one it is. The names are not obvious, they are abbreviations. If you do find one you suspect, if you try and stop the process using the Task Manager, it will usually restart itself in the task manager. Another way is to run a spy-ware/anti-virus program on your computer. If you have one installed and you run it, you may not find it because it may have been excluded from your search due to a manual exclusion which tells the spyware "don't detect this program". You can always get one off the net, scan and remove it after your done. Either way,if one is installed it can tell a person where you've been, what you have typed, and all IM conversations and so on and so on. So be good. Hope that helps.

    Update Note......

You won't see it as an installed progran under control panel either. Its a DOS based program that runs at the same time as windows but windows can't access it directly so it acts like it's not even there...but it is. Which means you have to start the program from the command line. Example. In the 'start search' box from the windows main menu type "cmd". It will bring up a command prompt. You now have to start the program manualy by typing in the correct exact file name... for instance pcpolice.exe. Then it will let you run the program in this command window. That's the only way to access it. Check this one out (http://www.x-pcsoft.com/) and read the key features. They allpretty much work the same. Good luck.
