How do you lower a motocycle so its easier for to get on?

its a yz 125 04 and i want it lower for my son

  1. A dirt bike? Doubt they make lower links for them, as they are made that way to help with balance, and stability.

    sport bikes yes. I've never seen a lowering link for dirt bikes. I maybe wrong, but the best place to find out is a search on Ebay (plug your bike model into the search, along with "lowering link")


  2. yz 125 is a race bike. they sit tall to allow for suspension travel, that it will need when he gets good at riding it. it will drop somewhat when he finally gets on it. use a milk crate for getting on and off. until he gets tall enough to not need it or he'll figure it out with just riding it sooner or later.

  3. You can lower the rear 1.5" with the linkage, and then slide the forks up the same amount in the triple clamps. You can also cut the foam down and then recover the seat to shave off even more height.

  4. Lowering links for rear  and slide the forks up the tripple trees. Or cut down the seat foam.
