How do you lower and flake a mainsail while single-handling a sailboat?

Well there is a lot more to that question.  What are you sailing?  a hunter?  Get to a stopping point, either at a dock, mooring ball, or if you are just changing sails somewhere you can drift a bit.  Then sheet out, release the main halyard and start to lower the sail.  Flaking just takes practice.  

If you are sailing on a bigger boat 25+' get a boat with self flaking sails and just lower the halyard, and make sure the entire sail gets in the bag.

Good luck, sailing is so much fun, you need to be very very experienced to single hand a bigger boat.
