How do you maintain leather volleyballs? Anyone use oils or sprays?

Hi there,

I prefer playing with leather Volleyballs and I realize they last for 12-18 months before the covering degrades. You start to see crackling or it becomes slippery smooth.

Has anyone tried using some oils or sprays in hopes of extending the life of their volleyballs? Off the shelf leather conditioners / cleaners seem like they might help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Keep it out of the sun as much as possible, even if it is and outdoor ball. And yes, i've actually used a leather polish on some of my balls and they seem to last a good amount longer!!!

  2. i dont know any way to "preserve" it but all i know if it's an indoor volleyball dont take it outside or get it wet
