How do you make 'toffee' coated popcorn, is it done while popping or after?

  1. The topping is added afterwards.  Just pop plain popcorn or modify the salt accordingly.  Make sure you have some extra softened butter so you can form it into popcorn balls if desired.  The link below is a good recipe for toffee popcorn with peanuts.  If you don't want the peanuts, just omit them.  I think they're wonderful in it and have even used pecans instead at times.  If I don't form it into popcorn balls, I could sit there and eat the whole batch!

  4. Toffee is caramel. Caramel is sugar. Melt sugar. Pour it on popped popcorn. Not the kernals. Tada.
