  1. go to michael's or ANY crafts store. They have several kits and individual supplies to make easy candles and soap

  2. for soapmaking - check out Kathy Millers website - http://www.millersoap.com

also check out some of the older posts on yahoo answers - there have be many others with your same question - they have lots of great comments from others who have answered eariler posts.

  3. Right.  Craft store for a kit.  You can get any color you want by adding crayons to the wax.  For the soap, go to your public library and check out "The Foxfire Book".  This is a series of at least 3 books - you can learn how to do almost anything as it was done years ago.  Pretty interesting even if you don't want to do anything!  If you can't get to a library, google "soap making".  Have fun!

  4. Candle and soap making are not really that hard, but you do have to be cautious (making candles and soap can involve high temperatures, flammable substances, and potentially harmful chemicals). For candles, the beginner should start with container candles (usually in tins or glass jars) as this will get you some experience working with waxes, wicks, dyes, and scents. Note that there are many differnt types of waxes (container, pillar, soy, gel) and scents (not all are all safe together). For soap, you should start with melt & pour (M&P) to get the hang of it. I would recommend that you look at some of the sites I provided links to, take a lesson, or buy an introduction book/video. There is a lot of good and bad information out there, please use caution.

    Sites:

http://www.candlesandsupplies.com (good for info, videos, etc)

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/candlemaki... (great on-line group)

    http://candleandsoap.about.com/ (good instructions)

    http://www.candlecauldron.com/ (a very informative site)

    Hope this helps!
