How do you make E's look like È?

Those little mark-thingys, how do you get them on like, microsoft word?

For names like 'Renee' or words like 'Si', you need those little mark things.

Rofl, i'm so lame, and yeah i know there is a word for it and everything, but if i knew that, i would use it, wouldnt I?

Alt + 0205 = Í

Alt + 0243 = ó

Alt + 0211 = Ó

Alt + 0193 = Á

Well, you can go to your control panel or settings (if using a mac) and go to I think it is regional language options or something along those lines. Then just choose the different types of keyboards you want to use on your computer, so you would choose French for those accents. Then there should be a little flag that appears on your desktop toolbar thing at the bottom or top of the screen (wherever you had it set) and you can switch between French and English keyboards and the accents will be on the French keyboard and let you put them over any vowel! It is easy and useful if you have to use them a lot for a class or something. There are also keystoke codes you could use, here they are:

Dunno about PCs, but on Macs it's the ALT/OPTION button.

(Press and hold ALT/OPTION while tapping a letter key--e.g., holding alt while pressing U makes an umlaut; press a different letter key to insert a letter under the umlaut (ü).

Maybe it's the same on PCs?

Actually, it is easy!

For è (or accent grave), press the Alt at the same time as the numbers 1, 3 and 8 on the numerical pad to the far right of your keyboard.

For é (or accent aigu), press the Alt key at the same time as the numbers 1, 3 and 0.

For the ç, (or the cédille), press Alt and 1, 3 and 5.

É is found by pressing Alt and 1, 4 and  4.

You can find à by pressing Alt 133.

Alt 131 will give you â.

Just keep trying out differnt numbers between Alt 128 and about Alt 164 for different letters accent markings.

You can also adjust your keyboard through the keyboard options on your computer, but it might cause problems if you work mostly in one language.

In word, you use "insert symbol."

In everything else, hold down alt and, on the numberpad, hit the # of the symbol. This can be found in something called "character map" the default location in windows is: Programs>Accessories> System Tools>Character map.

For example, holding ALT and hitting 0233 then letting it go gives you an é.

You can also select, copy and paste from within character map. If you're on a laptop, this is easier than using the numpad button.

...but if you use them a lot, like I use é and ©, you tend to remember the number.

it's under symbols (I believe it's insert > symbols).  you have to look for it.  or you can go on the internet and search for the cods.  in french class I got a sheet but all I can remember was é 'cause I used it so much.  so you can try trail and error with alt + 130 (I think it's 125-140) that's how I got the é.  sorry it sounds confusing.

when your typing and u need an acent eg for

á é í ó ú, press the Alt Gr button, next to the space bar when you want to type a letter with an accent, then just press your letter.
