  1. 2 cups baking soda

    1 1/2 cups water

    1 cup cornstarch

Mix with a fork until smooth. Boil over medium heat until thick. Spoon onto plate or wax paper.

    Nature's Playdough

    1 cup flour

    1/2 cup salt

    1 cup water

    2 tablespoon oil

    2 tablespoon cream of tartar

    beet, spinach, and carrot juice

Mix flour, salt and oil, and slowly add the water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until dough becomes stiff. Turn out onto wax paper and let cool. Knead the dough with your hands until of proper consistency. Use as is, or divide into balls and add a few drops of the vegetable juices to make green, pink, and orange.

  3. google it

  4. Nope.. you can make salt dough which is similar but you cook in the oven and it sets...that's pretty cool. And it's really simple to make:

    Ingredients:

    2 cup all-purpose flour

    1 cup salt

    3/4 cup water

    food coloring.

    Step 1:

Mix flour with salt and water in a deep bowl.

    Step 2:

    Knead it until it's doughy.

    Step 3:

    Add food coloring or glitter.

    Step 4:

Make shapes by hand or with cookie cutters.

    Step 5:

Dry the objects in the oven at 200 degrees F for about 10 minutes. They can then be painted.

    Have fun! <3

  8. 1 cup white flour

    1/4 cup salt

    2 teaspoons food coloring

    1 table spoon vegetable oil

    1 cup water

    plastic bag or airtight container

2 tablespoons cream of tar tar

medium pot or pan  (from kidscooking a very slightly messy manual)

  9. http://www.ehow.com  hope you find something.

  10. step 1 Ingredients

Playdough is a classic childhood toy everyone can have fun with, and it's so easy to make at home you'll never buy that stinky store variety again.

    Basic ingredient ratios:

    2 cups flour

    2 cups warm water

    1 cup salt

    2 Tablespoons vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon cream of tartar (optional for improved elasticity)

food coloring (liquid, powder, or unflavored drink mix)

    scented oils

    step 2Mix and heat

Mix all of the ingredients together, and stir over low heat. The dough will begin to thicken until it resembles mashed potatoes.

When the dough pulls away from the sides and clumps in the center, as shown below, remove the pan from heat and allow the dough to cool enough to handle.

    step 3Knead & color

Turn the dough out onto a clean counter or silicone mat, and knead vigorously until it becomes silky-smooth. Divide the dough into balls for coloring.

Make a divot in the center of the ball, and drop some food coloring1 in. Fold the dough over, working the food color through the body of the playdough, trying to keep the raw dye away from your hands and the counter. You could use gloves or plastic wrap at this stage to keep your hands clean- only the concentrated dye will color your skin, so as soon as it's worked in bare hands are fine.

Work the dye through, adding more as necessary to achieve your chosen color.

    step 4Play and store

Play with your playdough- I really don't need to help you there. It's entirely edible, if a bit salty, so it's kid-safe.

When you're done store it in an air-tight container. If it begins to dry out, you can knead a bit of water in again to soften the dough back to useability. Once it's dried past a certain point, however, you'll just have to start over; thankfully it's not terribly difficult.

  11. Hi there

This is just the best play dough recipe ever.

    2 cups of flour

4 tablespoons of cream of tartar

    2 tablespoons of cooking oil

    1 cup of salt

    2 cups of BOILING WATER

    food colouring

This is basically the same as the others except you just replace the 'water' with 'boiling water' and stir.   There is no need to cook.

I have probably made 1000's of batches in my day and it really does work, using boiling water instead of cooking.

It is also the best consistency I have come across too.

At first it looks like it is not going to mix, but hang in there and throw it on the bench to knead and it turns out brilliantly.

    Hope this helps.

You could use it to fill up these free number stencils - great for a 4 year old -

Good Luck and all the very best.

    hmmm

    thats a good question

i think i'll star this one hmmmm

oh wait i just found this on a website

7-8 cups all-purpose or bread flour

    3 cups salt

    3 tablespoons cream of tartar

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    4 cups hot water

    food coloring

Mix seven cups of flour together with the salt and cream of tartar in the bowl of your stand-type mixer. Add the oil and water and knead with a dough hook in your electric stand-type mixer for five to six minutes. (If you are kneading by hand, knead for eight to ten minutes.) Add more flour to

    get a soft, workable dough.

Store the dough in a sealed container to keep it from becoming dry. If it becomes too dry, place it back in the mixer bowl and knead in a dribble of water

    try that...

  16. The following recipe is a big batch recipe. It is intended to be enough for a party or group of kids and makes about ten cups of play dough—the equivalent of twelve commercial Play Doh ® containers. If you want a smaller batch, divide the recipe in half. If you are having a really big party and want more play dough, make two batches--this recipe is about all that can be made in a stand-type mixer at one time. You can also make this play dough by hand.

If you want multiple colors, divide the dough and knead in the food coloring after the dough is made. If one color is sufficient, add the food coloring with the water and save the step of kneading in the coloring.
