How do you make a JPG file of a picture less than 1MB?

Question

I want to upload a picture to a site, but it will not accept pics/files that are greater than 1MB. All of my pics tend to be 1.26MB...any way to change this?

Help appreciated.

An Easier and simple way would be to use Ms-paint.

*Open a picture using Ms-paint.

*Click "CTRL+W"

*And Resize the picture in the way you want.

*Then click on "File" on the top of the window, and then click on "Save as", and choose "Jpeg" under "SAVE TYPE AS", and hit the save button.
