  1. cause most DVD movie are encrypted( CSS Copy right protected), you will need to have a 3rd party DVD copy software to help you, take a look at http://www.dvd-to-ipod-converter.com/dvd... this unbiased and detailed comparison chart of top 5 DVD copy softwares, 1 Click DVD copy is the best and works great for me.

  2. Hi utedriver,

It is illegal to copy DVDs that you rent but if they are DVDs you own you legally can make backups for your own use.

To copy DVDs you have to bypass the copy guard. To do this you need a program like AnyDVD. AnyDVD makes the copy guard invisible and any copy program will then copy it.

To read about and get a free trial of any DVD go here - http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

At the same place they also offer a great copy program called "Clone DVD". You can choose to delete extra languages, subtitles etc. As a result your movie requires less compression and your picture is better. You can read about & try it free here - http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd.html

  3. That is theft, you know.  I don't think we are supposed to become accessories to a crime here.  Anyway, if your computer has a DVD burner, you probably know how already. Right?

  4. I use on click DVD copy pro. Its able to break the copyright protection and lets you make exact copyies for yourself.
