  1. 1st-put about 4 to 5 tracks on a cd depending on howmuch music you make

2nd-this may seem hard but get your music out promote through myspace your local radio stations clubs and submit it to some satillite radio channels they are always accepting good music

3rd-make many copies of your cds and keep a few with you youll never know when you need them

last- be yourself on these cds and dont fall for record label tricks

  2. A lot depends on what kind've results you want. Assuming you've written and selected material, the easiest way to get the highest quality results is to go to a recording studio. Of course, this is also the most expensive way.

Demo CDs are usually meant to give a basic idea of what a band is all about - a way to get people out to shows or to get a record exec interested in the band. They are not expected to be of the highest quality - putting up a few microphones in your garage and recording into a 4-track is one way of making a demo. It can give surprisingly good results, if the garage has halfway decent acoustics, the mics are halfway decent, everyone plays at controlled volumes, and you put the microphones in juuuuust the right spots.

The complexity, cost, and resulting quality go up from there. Usually a computer is the best way to go... a few microphones, a mixer, and a computer is one way to make it happen.

From there it depends what you want to do with it... use it for promotion, try to sell it, try to get a record company or radio station to pay attention to you, etc. Usually higher quality is expected if you want to sell it or get noticed.

Not sure what else to say. If you have a more specific question, post again... or you can email me directly I guess.
