i try to recycle, help those i see that need it, do what ever i can even if it seems like a very small thing... we all can make a difference to someone, "or" something, big "or" small just like in the story below...

An old man walked up a shore littered with thousands of starfish, beached and dying after a storm... A young man was picking them up and flinging them into the ocean... "Why do you bother?" the old man scoffed... "You're not saving enough to make a difference"... The young man picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back to the water... "Made a difference to that one," he said...

  2. What a GREAT story, thank you for sharing :)

I saved it to share with others.

I recycle everything I can and try to inform others of the knowledge I've acquired as to what is/isn't recycleable.  I started at home and now I'm convincing others at work.

I'm a huge coffee fan and take every opportunity I can to try to sell other customers when I'm at the coffee counter to buy a reuseable cup.

It's worked on many occassions, many don't realize that a refill is cheaper with one!

I enlighten my child every chance I get about how we can make a difference.

I participate in Green Up Day and always keep a trash bag or two in my car so when hiking or enjoying a favorite spot I can clean up.  On several occassions I have half filled a bag by the river near my house and was super pleased to go back 2 days later to see it FILLED by others who took the cue.  I then disposed of the bag properly with my own household trash.

    I NEVER BUY bottled water.

I sew and am a crafter and recycle old clothes and junk.

I lug home free stuff on the side of the road to use or to share with others who may need it.  I too have gotten rid of things I no longer needed or was unable to find use for by making a free pile at the end of my driveway.

I take out an elderly neighbor's mail and recycle bin.

I smile and occassionally talk to strangers who seem like they are having a bad day.

I have placed over 50 pets abandoned or in bad situations.

There are so many things we can do to make the world a better place that don't cost a dime...

Stopping for that pedestrian where there is no crosswalk...

Helping that short elderly woman who can't reach the product she wants at the grocery store...

    Being neighborly...

Allowing that car who has been waiting forever to get out in traffic to go...

    the list goes on.

  3. you could make a club with the same interests in saving the world and making a difference

  4. I agree. I have 2 cars that run on natural gas (methane), and I tell everyone who will listen about them. They are cheap to fill up and clean for the environment, and I love 'em! I wish everyone had one. My sources are below so you can see if one would work for you. Every little bit helps!
