How do you make a fish eat?

i got 3 fish from a lake and they wont eat

did you take the fish from the lake and put them in an aquarium? if you did, thats why they're not eating. put them back in the lake.

Did you have a tank up and cycled prior to bringing them home?  

Many fish when moved from one place to another won't eat for a few days.  You cannot force feed fish.  Give them time to settle in.  They will eat eventually.

try giving them live fish to eat. they don't know what fish food is, so put what they would normally eat in the tank and they should eat. also, try checking the temperature of the tank. if fish are in water that is too hot or too cold, it can affect them greatly and even kill them. fish are very delicate. if that doesn't work, contact a pet store.
