  1. You'll need ice, coffee, powdered chocolate, milk, and a blender.

    Mix two cups cold coffee, two cups milk, about a half a cup of powdered chocolate, and a full cup of ice in a blender and blend together. You will have a blended mocha like those you pay $3.00+ for at coffee shops.

    *you can also use chocolate syrup if you cant find powdered milk chocolate.

  2. I don't know what those drinks are at DQ and Sonic, but when we were kids, we mixed instant coffee, sugar and milk powder in a small amount of hot water, dilute it with cold water, then put it in the freezer.  Every ten minutes or so, we take it from the freezer to stir (so we don't get a lot of separation with the freezing.  If you freeze coffee without stirring, it's watery on top and concentrated on the bottom).

    Maybe you can just put milk-coffee in an ice-cream maker.  Or add shaved ice to coffee-concentrate.

  3. I'm not familiar with either of those drinks, but I am a barista and here is how I would go about making a frozen mocha:

    1) Brew a shot of espresso.  If you don't have an espresso machine, I would brew coffee using twice the normal amount of ground coffee in the brew basket, in order to make it twice as strong.

    2) Put the espresso/coffee into a blender.

    3) Add milk/cream, chocolate syrup, and ice.

    4) Blend it to your desired thickness.

    5) Serve it in a cup, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with more chocolate syrup.

    That should come out pretty well.  Let me know how it is if you try it!

  4. here are lots of ways to make an iced mocha, this being one of the simplest and most delicious.If you’re in a hurry and want to skip the “special occasion” flourishes, omit the whipped cream and chocolate garnishes. But just know that they do make the coffee extra special with very little added effort. (The recipe makes just 2 servings but can be easily multiplied.)

        * 1 1/2 cups strong hot brewed coffee

        * 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar

        * 1 1/2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, such as Hershey’s

        * 1 cup ice cold milk

        * 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

        * Handful or so crushed ice

        * Lightly sweetened whipped cream, for garnish

        * 1 small piece semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, for garnish

    1. Combine the hot coffee and brown sugar in a large measuring cup and stir until the brown sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate syrup. Transfer to a shallow bowl. Cool briefly at room temperature, then chill until ice cold. You can accelerate this step by putting it in the freezer, but just make sure it doesn’t start to ice.

    2. Combine the chilled coffee, milk, and vanilla in a small pitcher; stir to blend. Divide the coffee between 2 serving glasses, adding a small handful of crushed ice to each. Top each glass with whipped cream then grate a little chocolate over each one. Serve with straws.

    Makes 2 servings
