  1. This is a taco sauce I make when we eat tacos. As for the ingredients they can be bought almost anywhere.

4 whole tomatoes (any kind you like )

5 peppers(you can use Serrano , jalapeno etc which ever you prefer)

add 2 dabs of pepper and a tad of salt , you can make this fresh or boil them.

if you boil them you have to make sure you peel the skins of the tomatoes after they cool and after all is ready mix everything up in a blender to thicken  when all is done in the blender add a can of tomato sauce and mix it all up and add as much salt to your liking . Remember you can do this sauce without having to boil it and blend them all in fresh , add still add the tomato sauce etc. Well, hope you enjoy the sauce.Have a good day.

  2. interesting question. Chips and salsa. The answer may depend on how hot you like your salsa. Is it americanized? Meaning that is mostly tomato and very little heat to it.

Or are you the type that likes very spicy (hot food).

Our family is mexican. We rarely make sauce that looks like restaurant style sauce for chips. BUT my parents make hot sauce all the time- that are just as suitable for chips or pouring on food.

My father and I have a small garden in the back. Here we grow Jalapenos, Habaneros, 2 other types of very hot chillies, tomato, and tomatillo (green husked tomatoes).

There are used to make chillie sauce (hot suace/chip sauce).

The excess chillies are sun dried and used after the summer season. The tomatillos are frozen.

But my parents will make different types of sauce- and in different severity of heat.

I have recently make a sauce that takes habaneros, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, carrots and onions- theyre all boiled, then blended. the result is a very very good sauce that is suitable for chips or refried beans etc.

We use our hot sauce on everything. from morning eggs, to refried beans, on chips, on just heated tortillas, in soups, etc.

depends on the type of sauce.

You may have to do a little more research online as to which type of sauce you really want (pictures and descriptions). And maybe its possible for you to  grow your own jalapeno plant indoor. Theres places online that sell seeds.

I love to get fresh halapenos from my plant..... place them on a hot gridle (metal plate/comal) and heat them till the sides get black. then peel the black off the chillies, then mince some cilantro and a bit of onions and the jalapenos, and then apply several mexican limes. I use plenty of lime juice-

then I cook some fish fillets with lemom-pepper, and then finally use a spoon to pour some of the jalapeno/cilantro/onion/lime juice on the fish....... YUMM....

Thought Id give you some ideas......

  3. 2-3 large ripe tomatos

    1 white onion

    1-2 large cloves of garlic

1 large lime ( you need zest & juice)

1 jalepeno pepper (seeds removed if you dont want it scorching hot)

    bunch of cilantro

    salt & pepper to taste

seed & dice tomatos, chop jalepeno onion & garlic, add zest & juice of lime.. add cilantro at the end.

if you don't like it chunky you can toss it in a blender or food processor to liquify

  4. you have all the right ingriedients except cumin and garlic.

i would fry half an red onion in olive oil,one garlic clove ,cayenne pepper to taste ,quarter teaspoon of ground cumin ,half a finely chopped green /bell pepper and then add one tin of chopped tomato and reduce it down until it looks right.
