How do you make a good cardboard boat?

Question

me and my friend are doing a cardboard boat race.

and were gonna need some help.

materials::tape, cardboard, paint.

NOTHING ELSE!! and also, its a race.

and i dont know how far the race is going to be. so it needs to stay up for a long period of time.

and it need to be able to hold two 100 pound teenagers.

were gonna make it so it can hold more than 100 pounds just to be safe.

wide base for stability

tape all joins, both sides

what type of paint???  its important

acrylic paint mix with PVA glue, painted over every surface.

could seal joins, and stop the cardboard absorbing water long enough to win the race

Are you serious?  Doesn't cardboard get wet - wouldn't the boat sink?  This is a joke right?

use the paint and tape to waterseal the cardboard. Use triangle and tube structures to add rigidity to the hull.

well my friends were in that only they couldnt use paint, anyway you can go to a box place and if you tell em what its for they will probably give you a big sheet of it as that is what my friend did. i think he then steamed the edges and bended it into place and let it dry. With yours its will be great make sure you paint the bottom and sides of your boat with like 2 coats, and tape it up real nice.
